Yen Weakens Versus Dollar, Euro, Paring Weekly Gains

May 21 (Bloomberg) -- The yen weakened versus the euro and dollar, paring gains this week as the European debt crisis triggered demand for Japan’s currency as a refuge.

The yen fell to 112.85 per euro as of 9:23 a.m. in Tokyo from 111.99 yesterday in New York, when it touched 109.65 the strongest since November 2001. Japan’s currency declined to 90.12 versus the dollar from 89.68, trimming a 2.6 percent gain this week.
